FAQs

Can an ENT specialist treat a deviated septum?

Yes. Our ENT consultants assess and diagnose deviated septum through clinical examination and, where needed, nasal endoscopy. For cases where symptoms are significantly affecting your quality of life, we offer septorhinoplasty and deviated septum correction - a surgical procedure to straighten the septum and restore normal airflow.

What is the difference between septoplasty and septorhinoplasty?

Septoplasty corrects the internal structure of the septum to improve breathing - it addresses the functional problem only, with no change to the external appearance of the nose. Septorhinoplasty combines this with rhinoplasty, so it corrects the septum and also reshapes the outside of the nose. If you have both a breathing problem and a cosmetic concern, septorhinoplasty addresses both in a single procedure.

Do I need a GP referral to see a private ENT consultant?

No. You can book directly with our ENT team in Liverpool and Manchester without a GP referral. Most patients are seen within days rather than weeks.

How much does a private ENT consultation cost?

An initial ENT consultation at Pall Mall Medical costs £250. If a nasal endoscopy is required during your appointment, price will be discusssed.

How long is the wait for a private ENT appointment?

Most patients are seen within a few days of enquiring. There are no NHS waiting lists you choose a time that suits you across our Liverpool and Manchester clinics.
