About
Dr Adam Moreton is a GMC registered doctor and on the specialist register for later life psychiatry. Dr Moreton sees patients of all ages with suspected memory problems / dementia and works with older adults who have problems such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, psychosis and other mental health conditions. He also sees younger people if they have complex physical health needs complicating the management of their mental health problems.
Dr Moreton graduated from Liverpool Medical School in 2010, he has worked in mental health since 2013 and undertook his specialist training in Manchester. Dr Moreton was appointed as an NHS consultant in 2019 and works in a Community Mental Health Team and Memory Service. Alongside his clinical duties he holds a number of training roles - he is the Central Manchester Site Tutor for psychiatry and lectures on the topic of vascular dementia at The University of Manchester on the BSc psychology course. Dr Moreton is a former NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow and has a number of publications. He is also a Special Advisor to the CQC and supports quality assurance inspections of mental heath services.
Dr Moreton has provided evidence at Mental Health Tribunals as well as reports for the Court of Protection, Crown and Magistrates courts. He is indemnified by the MDDUS. Dr Moreton is in good standing with the Royal College of Psychiatrists for continued professional development.

- initial 90 minute assessment including cognitive testing, head scan, blood tests and a 30 minute follow-up appointment
