Arm Lift before and after

Arm lift vs non-surgical treatments
If you’re unhappy with the appearance of your upper arms, it’s natural to explore non-surgical options first. Treatments like skin tightening, fat reduction, or muscle toning can offer subtle improvements - but they work very differently from arm lift surgery.
Understanding the difference can help you choose the option that’s most likely to deliver the result you want.
Non-surgical treatments
Non-surgical treatments for the arms — such as radiofrequency skin tightening, ultrasound-based treatments, or injectable fat reduction - are designed to improve skin firmness and reduce small areas of fat without surgery.
These treatments are often searched for as “non-surgical arm lift” or “arm tightening without surgery”, and they can be effective in the early stages of skin laxity.
However, it’s important to understand their limitations.
Non-surgical options cannot remove excess skin, which is often the main concern for patients researching “bingo wings treatment” or “loose skin on arms after weight loss”. Results are usually gradual, require multiple sessions, and may need ongoing maintenance.
Best suited for:
Mild to moderate skin laxity
Early signs of ageing in the arms
Small, stubborn fat pockets
Patients searching for arm tightening without surgery
Arm lift (brachioplasty) surgery
Unlike non-surgical treatments, brachioplasty directly addresses loose, hanging skin, making it especially suitable after significant weight loss or where skin elasticity has reduced with age.
While it involves a recovery period, it delivers more dramatic and long-lasting results in a single procedure.
Best suited for:
Excess or hanging skin on the upper arms
Moderate to severe skin laxity
Post-weight loss patients
Those comparing brachioplasty vs skin tightening
Patients seeking permanent or long-term results

| Longevity | Temporary/maintenance required | Long-lasting |
| Downtime | Minimal | Moderate recovery |

What happens during arm lift surgery?
Consultation
Pall Mall will invite you to come into one of our clinics so that we can look at your arms and have an honest discussion about why you want surgery and the results you can expect from the operation. This consultation will last 25-40 minutes and please remember that this is an opportunity for you to ask as many questions as you want and resolve any concerns about the procedure. Our staff are always happy and willing to support you in any way.
Pre-Operation
Part of the preparation for your Brachioplasty operation will involve you coming into the surgery so that you can undertake some early tests for MRSA. There could also be some blood/urine checks.
Additionally, we’d want to get medical records of your arm lift and therefore we will take pictures of them prior to surgery. After this, you’ll be given time with the nurse to speak about surgery expectations, side effects or even just how to prepare on the day of the surgery.
Surgery
Once the big day arrives, you will arrive at the hospital and be immediately greeted by one of our excellent nurses who will show you to your room. The surgeon will be present for your final consent and your last queries before we get started with the procedure.
You’ll then be taken to the theatre and put under general anaesthetic where the surgeon will create a incision under your arms to start the arm lift. The whole process can take between one hour and three hours.
Post-Surgery
Having had a 1 to three-hour procedure, you can expect to be anxious about the results and progress however Pall Mall will be there for you throughout. We will invite you to come back to the clinic post-op so we can analyse the results at 1, 2 and 6 weeks. at this time we will take Pictures will again to be able show the transformation of your operation.
Aftercare
Our team will help you with aftercare as much as you like, whether you want the reassurance of direct contact with a nurse, which you can get 24/7 or if you would like to come back into the clinic. All of these options are available to you, so don’t let it go to waste!

Why might I consider arm lift surgery?
You may consider to undergo an arm lift if you’re struggling to lose the sagging skin from the underneath of your arms through diet and fitness alone. The sagging skin may be caused by ageing or extreme weight loss.
Will there be any scarring after arm lift surgery and will this heal?
Incisions will need to be made underneath the arms to remove the sagging skin so scarring will be there, however the incisions are typically placed in areas that aren’t as easily visible and the scars will become fainter as time goes on.
How long will it take me to recover from arm lift surgery?
You may need one to two weeks off work and it’ll be at least two weeks before you can drive again. It takes between four to six weeks for the arms to fully healed. Scarring will take up to a year to settle.
What are the potential complications of arm lift surgery?
All surgeries come with some degree of risk. Some of the possible complications of an arm lift include bleeding, infection, scarring, sensory nerve damage, asymmetry,
Your surgeon will talk to you about the risks and benefits in detail at your consultation and pre operation appointments.
