Nasal endoscopy (also known as rhinoscopy) allows a detailed examination of the nasal and sinus cavities using an endoscope. The examination is widely used by ear, nose and throat (ENT) specialists when looking for causes of sinus problems. An endoscope is a viewing tube with a light at one end and an eyepiece or camera attached to a video monitor at the other, so your consultant can see a detailed view of the inside of your nose. The procedure is not usually painful but some patients can experience discomfort from the pressure of the endoscope. There are two types of this examination, which are both available privately from Pall Mall Medical.
