Read about Jake's health anxiety and why he came to Pall Mall for a Brain and Body MRI.
Jake Quickeden, 34-year-old singer and tv personality came to visit Pall Mall's Newton-le-willows hospital for an MRI Scan. Jake came for an MRI Brain and Body scan to ensure everything was running smoothly within his body.
As an individual who actively suffers from health anxiety, Jake understands the importance of taking proactive steps to prioritise his health and identify any potential signs or symptoms early on. Visiting Pall Mall for an MRI scan allows him to stay on top of his health and minimise his anxious thoughts.
At Pall Mall, we recognise that painful injuries and undiagnosed health concerns can hold you back from doing what you love. MRI scans help to diagnose medical conditions with greater accuracy, leading to more successful treatment of patients suffering from a wide range of conditions. MRI scans can also be used for the diagnosis of heart conditions, cancer, liver and kidney problems and issues affecting bones and joints, such as arthritis and sports injuries.
Before going in for his MRI Scan, Jake admitted he was nervous, having never had an MRI scan before he didn’t know what to expect. However, when we spoke to him afterwards, this is what he had to say, "There was nothing to worry about! The scan took about an hour and a half and I was able to listen to my own music which allowed me to just chill out."
What is a Brain and Body MRI scan?
A full body MRI scan is looking for and is able to detect pathology in the vital organs as follows: Head, Neck/ Spine, Abdomen and Pelvis. This is our most comprehensive scan.
If you would like to join Jake in having a full body health check, you can book your MRI scan at Pall Mall without a referral from your NHS doctor.
MRI scans are unsuitable for some people, for example, if they have had any surgery that may have placed metals inside the body. Jewellery and piercings must be removed before an MRI scan.
If you’re pregnant you may be advised to have an ultrasound rather than an MRI.
Results from MRI scans are delivered back to you within a week so you aren't left worrying. Jake summarised his experience receiving an MRI scan with us in these few words: "It was easy, simple and it was a great service."
