What is a private prescription?
As part of our Private GP service, we are fully able to provide patients with a private prescription form for medication that you need. If you need a prescription or repeat medication for a medical condition, you simply need to arrange a Private GP Appointment with one of our experienced male or female doctors, who, following an assessment, will be able to prescribe the appropriate medication. Furthermore, a range of medications is available from our onsite storage which may be able save a further trip to a pharmacist. All of our General Practitioners are registered with the GMC and, as a private service, will endeavour to help with your requirements for a number of issues such as when you: Have conditions diagnosed or confirmed by our GP’s Have run out of your regular/repeat prescription medication Have forgotten or lost your tablets, inhalers or medicine Need access to emergency contraception Are seeking medication that is not available under the NHS.
We have introduced online booking to make things easier for you.
Private repeat prescriptions
We are able to provide repeat prescriptions for regular private patients who have previously seen one of our GP’s and an agreement has been made to put your medication/prescription on a repeat course.
This makes it even more convenient for patients who have busy lives. You simply need to contact Pall Mall Medical, put in your repeat request and we organise this for you. Our private GP will agree on a duration for the repeat prescription/medication before a formal medication review appointment is required.
Note: It is at our doctor's discretion to decide whether to provide a prescription or not.

Private prescription medical insurance
At Pall Mall we work with all of the major, private medical insurance companies. You may be able to cover the cost of a private GP using your medical insurance policy. However, to make sure always contact your insurance company before booking an appointment. They’ll check to see whether your policy covers this service at Pall Mall and they can pre-authorise your consultation. When you contact us, you’ll need to provide your insurance details and pre-authorisation code.
It’s easy to get an appointment online or over the phone.
Telephone & Video Appointments. Now Available.
A telephone or video appointment with one of our private GP’s, is the same as if you were seeing your doctor, in the normal way, face to face.
You’ll talk about your symptoms and concerns and your GP will recommend the next best steps. Whether that’s treatment, a scan, testing or a referral to one of our specialist consultants. If you book a telephone appointment the doctor will call you on the phone number you’ve provided.
If you choose a video consultation, you’ll receive an email with a link. When it’s time for your appointment, click on the link and follow the simple instructions to join your GP.

You may be given a private prescription for medication following an appointment with a private GP.
How long does it take to get a private prescription?
