In a recent Instagram poll, we asked our followers about their thoughts on having cosmetic surgery abroad. While many may be tempted by the promise of cheaper procedures and the allure of quick, dramatic results, the answers revealed a stark truth about the risks involved - risks that should not be ignored.
A significant number of respondents admitted to having considered having cosmetic surgery abroad, with 50% admitting to having surgery abroad. However, when asked what ultimately stopped them, 83% were out due to the potential risks and deaths associated with surgery abroad, including the very real and tragic possibility of complications, some of which have even led to fatalities. The rise in such cases is deeply troubling, as patients are often unaware of the unregulated environments they might be entering. The allure of a lower price tag can often cloud the very serious risks, such as substandard care, lack of follow-up, and inadequate aftercare procedures.
